In short
- There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no advertising.
- No tracking or advertising cookies are set.
- Questions typed into the question box are recorded, along with part of the answer returned.
- Please do not type personal information into the question box. It is never needed to ask about the public record.
The question box
When you ask a question, the text of that question and a portion of the answer returned are written to a log file on the server. The log is not reachable from the web.
This exists so that coverage can be improved — so it is possible to see which parts of the official record people come here looking for and are not finding. It is read in aggregate, to decide what to ingest next.
Because the box accepts free text, anything typed into it is recorded, including personal information if you enter it. Nothing about the service requires personal information, and it should not be entered.
Question records are retained for twelve months and then deleted.
Server records
The site is served by a commercial hosting provider, which keeps standard web server access records — IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser type — as every web server does. These are generated by the hosting infrastructure, are used for security and availability, and are subject to the provider's own retention.
Sharing
Nothing recorded here is sold, rented, or shared for marketing. No analytics, advertising, or profiling service receives it. It is not used to build a picture of any individual.
Information would be disclosed only where a law or a lawful order requires it.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be erased.
If you have entered personal information into the question box and want it removed, write in and say roughly when you asked and what about, and the record will be deleted.
Children
This site is a reference for policy, research and public information. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this notice
If what is recorded changes, this page changes with it and the revision date at the top moves. Material changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
